This post has to start with a story. About 6 weeks ago, I saw that Adventures in Homebrewing. And has so graciously given us a 53-gallon use Rye Whiskey barrel. So we immediately went to work formulating a recipe for a beer to age in the barrel. This batch pretty much maxed out my 10 gallon MLT. The grains were crushed, mixed in with the strike water.
